Cantilever Gate Systems

Cantilever gates have become the default for most high-security perimeters for several practical reasons:

• No ground track to maintain. Roller gates and V-groove gates require a concrete grade beam and ground-level track that must be kept free of debris, ice, and standing water. Cantilever gates eliminate that maintenance entirely.
• Safer automated operation. A cantilever gate travels in a straight line parallel to the fence. This linear path is more predictable than a swing gate’s 90-degree arc, which reduces the risk of the gate contacting a vehicle, pedestrian, or obstruction during automated operation.
• Lower long-term maintenance. Cantilever roller assemblies use sealed bearings or enclosed track systems that do not require regular greasing. Swing gate hinges, by contrast, need repeated lubrication and are often welded in place, making them difficult to adjust over time.
• Works on any terrain. Because the gate never touches the ground, it operates reliably on uneven, sloped, or unpaved surfaces. This makes it the right choice for industrial sites, construction staging areas, and locations with less-than-ideal ground conditions.
• Easier snow and debris clearance. The single linear path of a cantilever gate is easier to keep clear than the wide arc a swing gate requires. In northern climates, this is a significant operational advantage.
• Simpler automation. A single cantilever gate requires one operator. A double swing gate covering the same opening requires two. That means lower equipment cost, fewer components to maintain, and fewer potential failure points.
